‘My Bubble’ - a year of change
A city wide ‘lockdown’ project - led by Donna Maria Taylor and Katie Hill
In response to the challenges posed by the last winter lockdown this community-based project was established to provide crucial support to residents in need.
From the 31st January through to the 23rd March 2021, artists / residents of York were invited to submit artwork on the theme of: ‘My Bubble - a year of change’. The submitted pieces were to be personal to the individual and inspired by their life during Covid-19 times.
It was open to all ages and artworks had to be presented in a circle between 12cm and 21cm in diameter.
Originally only an online exhibition of over 80 individual artworks, once restrictions allowed, it was exhibited in the following locations:
City Screen, Coney Street, York - November 2021
York EXPLORE Library - March to June 2021
Southlands Methodist Church - January 2023
York Hospital - January to July 2023
Southlands Methodist Church - July to September 2023
