The Road through York

A York Learning city-wide project - led by Claire Douglas and Karen Winship (with workshop support by Donna Maria Taylor)

2014

The Road Through York project was featured at York Racecourse during Le Grand Depart (Tour De France) in July 2014. Karen Winship designed the project, which was then replicated on 320 individual one-metre square panels by members of the local community, including learners from York Learning.

The completed artwork spanned roughly 20 metres by 16 metres and was showcased from an aerial perspective to a TV audience on the day of the Grand Depart.

Donna conducted sessions with the general public and also a group of children from St Pauls C of E primary school as her role in the project.
